EstablishedUnder the Mitbestimmungsgesetz, companies with more than 2,000 employees have supervisory boards with equal numbers of shareholder and employee members, and in a repeated tie the chair has a second vote; the Drittelbeteiligungsgesetz gives employees one third of the seats in companies with more than 500 employees.
