EstablishedThe convention had 150 randomly selected members and a mandate to define measures to cut France's greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% by 2030 relative to 1990, in a spirit of social justice. After about nine months and seven sessions it delivered 48 objectives and 149 proposals on 21 June 2020.DisputedHow far the government honoured the proposals is assessed differently: its tracker counts 100 of 149 as implemented in whole or part, while the convention members concluded in February 2021 that many were only partly taken up, often shifting from obligation to incentive.
