EstablishedClimate Assembly UK was commissioned by six House of Commons select committees and had 108 members chosen by civic lottery. It met over three in-person weekends in Birmingham and three online weekends between January and May 2020, and published its report on 10 September 2020.EstablishedIts evaluators found that adapting the assembly's scope to the scale of climate change compromised members' learning, the coordination of recommendations, members' endorsement of them and their impact on parliament and government, and argued for more democratic agenda-setting.
