EstablishedUnder the Act on the Autonomy of Åland, a Finnish citizen obtains the right of domicile on application after five years' uninterrupted residence and with satisfactory Swedish, and only holders may vote or stand in Lagting and municipal elections.EstablishedThe Act on the Autonomy of Åland can be amended only by consistent decisions of the Parliament of Finland, under the procedure for constitutional amendments, and of the Åland Parliament by at least a two-thirds majority.
