EstablishedThe Historical Dictionary of Switzerland records a Landsgemeinde in Glarus from 1387 and notes that cantonal assemblies survive only in Glarus and Appenzell Innerrhoden, after abolitions in Zug and Schwyz (1848), Uri (1928), Nidwalden (1996), Appenzell Ausserrhoden (1997) and Obwalden (1998).
