EstablishedThe preamble of Greenland's Self-Government Act of 2009 recognises the people of Greenland as a people under international law with the right of self-determination, and section 21 provides that a decision on independence is taken by the people of Greenland, to be endorsed by the Greenlandic and Danish parliaments.
