A proposed non-monetary system that measures production and distribution in units of energy, associated with Technocracy Inc.'s energy certificates.
In more detail
Technocracy Inc. proposed that a Technate would replace prices with energy certificates issued as equal shares of net energy converted. Certificates would be individual, non-transferable and non-cumulative, and would expire. The scheme was published as a design in the 1930s and has never been put into operation.
