Algorithmic impact assessment rule
- Register. {public body} publishes a register of each automated decision system: purpose, owner, supplier, data, deployment date and latest assessment.
- Assessment. Owners publish an assessment before deployment and again after any material change.
- Notice and explanation. Affected people are told an automated system was used and receive a plain-language explanation.
- Human review. A named official with authority to override reviews every decision that {consequential criteria}.
- Appeal. Reconsideration by a human within {number} days; reasoned answer within {number} days.
- Audit. {independent body} audits each system every {audit period}, with access to models, data and logs.
- Suspension. The system is suspended when {suspension trigger} and stays suspended until {reinstatement condition}.
- Excluded uses. {list of uses not permitted}.
